Do we have to carry bags? Outside of the daily essentials (sun block, cameras, swimwear, etc.), all of the bags will be transported by jeeps or burros. What is the weather like? The weather in Southern Brazil is sub-tropical and mild relative to northern regions of the country. For most of the year, the temperatures are extremely comfortable with slight breezes most of the year. The temperatures during the spring months, September through November, average between lows of 9 - 12 degrees C (43 - 55 degrees F) and highs of 18 - 24 degrees C (64 - 75 degrees F). The temperatures during the summer, December through March, average between lows of 12 - 18 degrees C (55 - 64 degrees F) and highs of 21 - 29 degrees C (70 - 84 degrees F). The fall months, April and May, average between lows of 6 - 12 degrees C (43 - 55 degrees F) and highs of 18 - 24 degrees C (64 - 75 degrees F). The temperatures during the winter months, June - August, average between lows of 6 - 9 degrees C (42 - 48 degrees F) and highs of 15 - 18 degrees C (59 - 64 degrees F). However, this region records the coldest temperatures in Brazil and at times during the winter months in the mountains, the temperature may reach freezing for a few days. Rarely, snow falls but almost never sticks for more than a day. |
